Bill Dippel
Bill Dippel graduated cum laude from SMU Law School in 1983. His interest in the practice of law was inspired by his father, the late Honorable Kenneth C. Dippel, a practicing Texas lawyer for over 50 years and former Judge of the 95th District Court in Dallas. Bill has been board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1996, has been AV rated by Martindale Hubbell his entire career, and has been selected a Texas Super Lawyer since 2009.
Bill’s career began at a large defense firm, specializing in defending complex product liability litigation for major automotive manufacturers. He began working as regional counsel for General Motors at the age of 27, and he successfully tried cases for GM, Nissan, Firestone, Kawasaki, and other product manufacturers.
After achieving equity partnership, Bill formed his own firm, which has primarily represented Plaintiffs in product liability, medical negligence, premises liability, sexual assault/abuse, and serious injury negligence cases. He also acts as defense counsel on select personal injury cases, and as in house counsel for a small Dallas company. Bill has been appointed guardian ad litem on cases in state and federal court, including a mass tort settlement involving over 300 minors. On occasion, he has been retained to evaluate legal malpractice cases, for both defendants and plaintiffs.
Bill has taught seminars at the State Bar of Texas Advanced Personal Injury Seminar, TTLA Advanced Products Liability Course, and the State Bar College Spring Training School. He is a former pro bono Special Prosecutor, State Bar of Texas, in Grievance Matters. He is admitted to the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts, as well as previously admitted to the First, Third, and Sixth Circuit Court of Federal Appeals.
