Nancy Forbis Carnahan

Nancy Forbis Carnahan grew up in Decatur, Texas, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986, and cum laude from The University of Texas School of Law in 1989, where she was a member and associate editor of The Texas Law Review. She has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1989, including all Texas state courts, as well as the Federal District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas. She is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and is included in the Martindale’s Bar Register for Preeminent Lawyers.  Though she now mediates full time, her practice has been devoted entirely to civil litigation, including complex personal injury, products liability, professional liability, insurance litigation, commercial litigation, construction litigation, and family law. Joining Gilbert Mediations in 2017, Nancy is a former partner of the Cowles & Thompson law firm, and is currently a partner with Carnahan & Carnahan PC in Southlake, Texas, where she also mediates.   As part of her civil trial practice, she acted as national coordinating products liability counsel to The Brinkmann Corporation for over 19 years. In addition to the basic mediation certification, Nancy has received her Advanced Family Law and CPS mediation certifications. She is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, the Northeast Tarrant County Bar Association, and the Texas Association of Mediators.

Nancy is a proficient Spanish speaker and provides mediation services in Spanish when requested, and can assist with Spanish translation where needed.
